What are the symptoms of recurrent olfactory neuroblastoma?

Symptoms of recurrence of olfactory neuroblastoma are generally no different from those at the beginning of the disease, which are often manifested as rhinorrhea, nasal congestion, decreased or loss of sense of smell, headache, tearing, blurred vision, and so on.
1. Nosebleed: patients may show a small amount of blood in nasal mucus, and occasionally a large amount of nosebleed.
2. Nasal congestion: the tumor mass will grow to block the nasal cavity, resulting in obstruction of nasal ventilation and symptoms of nasal congestion and dyspnea.
3. Decreased or loss of sense of smell: If the tumor invades a structure called sieve plate in the nose, it may cause decreased or loss of sense of smell.
4. Headache: If the tumor recurs and involves the sinuses, headache is the most common symptom.
5. Tears and blurred vision: If the tumor invades the eye socket, the patient may experience symptoms such as tears and protruding eyes. If the optic nerve is involved, blurred vision may result.
If there is a history of olfactory neuroblastoma, it is recommended to follow the doctor’s instructions and have regular checkups in the hospital.
