Thyroid cancer – the cancer with the highest cure rate

The first thing I want to tell you is that thyroid cancer has the highest survival and cure rate of any cancer, bar none! The cure rate for thyroid cancer is over 90% in the United States and close to 85% in China, and if it develops in young people and is detected early, the cure rate is almost 100%. I often joke that it will be swept out of the cancer family sooner or later because it tarnishes the reputation of cancer as a human killer. The prognosis for thyroid cancer is so good that drug companies are not interested in working on new drugs specifically for thyroid cancer because they can’t find enough patients to recoup their costs. The cure rate for thyroid cancer is so high that there are many inspiring stories related to thyroid cancer, such as the story of Wang Nan who beat cancer and won the Beijing Olympics after getting thyroid cancer in 2005! More than 90% of thyroid cancer patients can proudly tell people around them that I beat cancer! So if you are diagnosed with thyroid cancer, especially the mainstream papillary or follicular subtype (which accounts for about 90% of all thyroid cancers), and there is no metastasis, then there is really nothing to worry about. Use a positive mindset and work well with your treatment.
