Can you take Hepatol (glucuronolactone) medication for high aspartate aminotransferase?

High aspartate aminotransferase, also known as glutamine aminotransferase, can be caused by a variety of reasons, but if it is caused by physiological reasons, then no medication is needed. Among the various pathological causes, only the liver function impairment needs to be treated with glucuronolactone tablets.
Hepatatex, i.e. Glucuronolactone Tablets, is clinically used for the treatment of all kinds of acute and chronic hepatitis. Adverse reactions such as mild gastrointestinal discomfort may occur during the use of Glucuronolactone Tablets. Glutamine transaminase can be elevated by physiological and pathological reasons.
1. Physiological reasons: staying up late at night, strenuous exercise and other factors can cause transient elevation of AST, this kind of elevation does not need medication, after removing the causative factors, AST will return to normal on its own.
2. Pathologic causes:
(1) Myocardial infarction: under normal conditions, glutamine is present in cardiac myocytes and is released into the bloodstream when myocardial infarction occurs. The therapeutic focus of elevation due to this type of cause should be on antimyocardial infarction therapy such as thrombolysis, and glucuronolactone tablets are generally not needed.
(2) Liver impairment: Liver impairment caused by various reasons, including fatty liver, viral hepatitis, etc., can lead to elevation of AST, which is usually much higher than the normal value. The elevated enzyme due to liver function injury can be treated with glucuronolactone tablets.
(3) Other diseases: In addition to the above causes, muscle, lymphatic and other tissue injuries may also result in elevated AST. The treatment of such causes of enzyme elevation should be based on the treatment of the primary disease and Glucuronolactone Tablets are not indicated.
The drug should be used under medical supervision.
