Hickeys can generally be removed in a few days

Hickeys are scientifically called mechanical purple spots, which usually take 5-7 days to eliminate. Hickeys are mainly caused by the rupture of capillaries due to external suction during the kissing process, and the blood passes through the capillary walls and accumulates under the skin to form bruise-like changes. This bruise is formed under the skin and then gradually absorbed through its own decomposition and metabolism, gradually changing from red to brown and then slowly disappearing completely. Without external intervention, it takes more than 5 days to completely disappear. In the case of people with low platelet count, the fading time will be moderately longer, up to 7-10 days. If you want the hickey to fade quickly, you can apply cold towels on ice when it is just produced to make the capillaries constrict and reduce the continuous blood leakage. 24 hours later, apply hot towels on ice to promote local blood circulation and accelerate the absorption of bruises.
