Most epidermal cysts do not cause any discomfort and often do not require treatment. If you have any of the following, please seek medical attention as soon as possible.
(i) there is a sudden appearance of multiple swellings raised above the skin that are growing rapidly.
(ii) the cyst shows signs of infection (redness, swelling, heat, pain, purulent discharge, etc.) or ruptures.
(iii) Nodules occur in areas susceptible to frictional damage, or for cosmetic purposes.
