Most benign tumours of the liver do not become malignant, with rare cases of hepatocellular adenoma. If tumours are found to be progressing more rapidly during follow-up, or combined with elevated tumour markers, the pathological nature can be clarified through puncture and resection to prevent the underdiagnosis of liver malignancy.
