Can children get rid of molluscum contagiosum by rubbing it in?

Molluscum contagiosum children just rubbing is usually not very effective, and it is recommended that a scraping treatment be done before rubbing.
Molluscum contagiosum in children can be infected through direct contact or sexual contact and other ways. They usually begin as white, hemispherical papules that enlarge to extrude a white, cheese-like substance called a molluscum contagiosum. The neck, trunk, lower abdomen, and genitals are the most common sites of infection. The actual warts are usually not treated by rubbing the warts together with the medication alone.
The first choice of treatment for children with molluscum contagiosum is to scrape the warts out of the lesions with a wart scraper. A 2% tincture of iodine is then applied to effectively remove the lesions. Cryotherapy can also be used to help provide relief.
If the symptoms of molluscum contagiosum in children are severe or do not improve, it is advisable to visit a hospital. The above medications should be used in accordance with your doctor’s instructions.
