Early detection and treatment of colorectal cancer

  Early detection and early treatment of colorectal cancer are crucial for patients to overcome the disease. Therefore, those with precancerous colorectal lesions and other six types of high-risk groups should receive colorectal cancer screening once every three to five years from the age of 40, so as to achieve timely detection and timely treatment.  Colorectal cancer is one of the most common malignant tumors, including colon cancer, rectal cancer and anal canal cancer. According to experts, there are six types of high-risk people who are prone to colorectal cancer: those who have gastrointestinal symptoms, such as blood in stool, mucus stool and abdominal pain, over 40 years old in the high incidence area of colorectal cancer. It usually takes 5 to 10 years to develop from colorectal adenoma to colorectal cancer. Therefore, early detection and treatment of colorectal cancer is crucial for patients. For the high-risk groups mentioned earlier, experts recommend receiving colorectal cancer screening every 3 to 5 years from the age of 40; those who have a family history of the disease are recommended to visit a large oncology center as early as possible; even non-high-risk groups should undergo colorectal cancer screening every 5 to 10 years from the age of 50.  ”Even if you have colorectal cancer, you should have the confidence to overcome the disease. With the continuous progress of medical level, colorectal cancer is becoming one of the tumors with the best treatment effect.” According to experts, from 10 years ago when only one drug, fluorouracil, was available, to today when three new types of chemotherapy drugs, such as oxaliplatin and irinotecan, are widely used and treatment means are increasingly enriched, the application of multidisciplinary integrated treatment, such as preoperative and postoperative oxaliplatin given in combination with 5-fluorouracil and folinic acid adjuvant chemotherapy, has led to longer survival and higher quality of life.  ”Of course, we still have to prevent the disease before it happens.” , colorectal cancer can be effectively prevented through reasonable measures. The most important means is to change the high-fat, high-protein, low-fiber diet and the early detection of precancerous lesions such as colorectal adenomas to interrupt the cancer process through active intervention.
