What is the medicine for ringworm?

The basic medication for ringworm is a topical antifungal cream such as terbinafine spray and ketoconazole ointment. Oral antifungal medications such as terbinafine tablets may be added if they are not effective. Tinea cruris is a fungal infection of the skin of the perineum, which is a superficial fungal disease of small scope and is usually treated with a sensitive antifungal cream at first. Terbinafine ointment, terbinafine spray, butenafine ointment, and ketoconazole cream, which are commonly used in the market, are included in this list. Considering drug resistance, it is recommended to choose one each of fen and azole creams and use them alternately every night, adhering to a full course of treatment for 4 weeks to achieve satisfactory results. If the patient is combined with other superficial fungal diseases such as tinea cruris or onychomycosis, or if topical treatment alone is not effective, it is recommended to add oral antifungal medications in a timely manner, preferably itraconazole capsules, or if not available, terbinafine tablets can be used instead. Tinea corporis occurs in the perineum and is locally moist and sweaty. For patients who are obese or athletic, they should improve their personal hygiene habits by wearing more breathable and loose underwear, less jeans, and more ironing, boiling, and disinfecting their close bedding to avoid repeated personal autoinfection or cross-infection.
