Exercises for patients with premature beats

When exercising in patients with premature beats, it is important to first distinguish whether the patient has organic heart disease causing premature beats. If the patient has coronary artery disease or cardiomyopathy causing premature ventricular contractions, the patient has organic heart disease causing premature contractions, and this patient is not suitable for strenuous exercise. If exercise is performed, it should be done gradually under the guidance of a cardiac rehabilitation doctor. The usual exercises are mainly aerobic exercises, including jogging, climbing, swimming, and tai chi. Playing tai chi is not a very strenuous form of exercise and can be performed. If necessary, the patient can wear an ambulatory electrocardiogram or ambulatory blood pressure during exercise to monitor the premature beats during exercise to avoid an increase in myocardial oxygen consumption after strenuous exercise, leading to malignant arrhythmias and thus avoiding sudden death.
