Why should early detection and treatment of amblyopia be emphasized?

Amblyopia is a developmental disorder, and the younger the child, the better the outcome and the higher the cure rate, while the cure rate is basically hopeless in adulthood. 82%-83% of children are cured at the age of 7, and 46%-64% of children older than 7. After the age of 13, when the neural pathways of the eye-cortex are basically well developed, there is less and less hope for vision improvement and more and more difficulties in treatment. The key to improving the cure rate is early detection, so how can we detect children with amblyopia early? First of all, parents should observe their children carefully, children like to put the book very close when reading; watching TV like to move forward; often squinting to see things with a crooked head with a glance; or turn the face to one side, eyes tilted to the opposite side to see; in the outdoor sunlight closed one eye, there is a squint; in an unfamiliar environment, slow reaction, slow action; something dropped on the ground after reaching out with both hands groping to find, etc., found the above performance, that should be taken seriously, early to find a doctor Early examination. Kindergartens should make vision checkups a regular checkup for nursery and class start-ups, and in addition, take a vision checkup at least 1-2 times a year, and contact parents promptly if problems are found.
