How can I avoid acute mastitis by breastfeeding correctly?

The nipple and most of the areola should be placed in the baby’s mouth during feeding and the baby should be allowed to suckle while the mother can hear rhythmic sucking and swallowing sounds. Otherwise the baby cannot suck out the milk well because it does not contain enough articulation, instead it will push harder and the force will only act on the nipple, which can easily break the nipple. When stopping breastfeeding, the mother should gently press the baby’s chin to gently interrupt the sucking, and never pull out the nipple. Avoid prolonged pressure on the breast when breastfeeding on the side, which can affect blood circulation, and wear loose clothing.
