Can astigmatism in the eyes be corrected?

Astigmatism of the eyes can be corrected. Astigmatism is one of the common diseases that cause vision problems. Astigmatism may lead to vision loss, visual fatigue and other symptoms, and can be corrected by wearing frame glasses, corneal contact lenses, surgery, etc. 1, frame glasses: if it is regular astigmatism, frame glasses can be worn for correction, while those with irregular astigmatism cannot use frame glasses; 2, corneal contact lenses: those with high astigmatism who cannot adapt to frame glasses or irregular astigmatism can choose corneal contact lenses for correction ; 3, surgical correction: mainly includes corneal surgery and astigmatism-correcting IOL implantation. The main principle of corneal laser surgery to correct astigmatism is to change the radius of curvature of the cornea by laser cutting of the stromal layer of the cornea, so as to achieve the purpose of correcting astigmatism. Commonly used surgical procedures include excimer laser surgery, femtosecond laser surgery and corneal margin release incision to correct astigmatism. However, patients who are 18 years of age or older, have a stable refractive error, and have <600 degrees of astigmatism alone are required to have their astigmatism corrected by corneal surgery if they pass the examination. If certain abnormalities are combined through examination, surgical correction cannot be performed, such as combined systemic connective tissue diseases, severe dry eye, corneal diseases, cone corneas or those with a tendency to cone corneas, and high intraocular pressure. If a cataract patient has a combination of ocular astigmatism, the implantation of an astigmatic IOL may be considered for correction.
