How to treat mild fatty liver

If the fatty liver is caused by a primary disease (e.g. hepatitis C, diabetes), treatment of the primary disease needs to be accompanied by changes in lifestyle habits that are not conducive to recovery from liver disease, including diet moderation, increased exercise, and reduction or cessation of alcohol consumption.
If there is a mild fatty liver without significant primary disease and abnormal liver enzymes, only improvements in lifestyle habits and regular review of liver function and imaging tests are usually required.
