Is increased vaginal discharge related to cervical cancer?

Not necessarily. Increased vaginal discharge is associated with a number of causes, cervical cancer being one of them.
Patients with cervical cancer can have increased vaginal discharge, which can be white, bloody, thin and watery, with a fishy or foul odour when accompanied by infection; in advanced cases, due to tumour tissue necrosis and infection, there can also be a large amount of rice-soup-like or purulent foul-smelling discharge. Therefore, patients need to be alert if they experience any of these changes in their vaginal discharge.
