A new way to treat premature ejaculation

Recently, the only imported drug with an indication for premature ejaculation, Bilirubicin (chemical name: dapoxetine hydrochloride), was officially launched in China by the State Food and Drug Administration (CFDA). The drug has been approved in nearly 60 countries worldwide and is officially available in 32 countries and regions. In the afternoon of Dec. 02, the first prescription of Bilirubicin in China has also been prescribed by Guo Yinglu, an academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering. In his opinion, although sexual health problems have gradually gained attention in recent years, there is still an urgent need to promote and strengthen the popularization, diagnosis and treatment of these problems compared to their actual negative effects. Academician Guo believes that the launch of BILIJIN will play a positive role in the development of Chinese male medicine and improve the sexual health of Chinese men. Filling the gap in the field of premature ejaculation treatment Prof. Zhang Zhichao (Director of the Department of Gynecology, Peking University Hospital), a member-elect of the Chinese Society of Sexual Medicine, pointed out that for a long time, due to the lack of drugs with indications for premature ejaculation approved by the Drug Administration, for many male and urological doctors, they have to prescribe outside the state approved label, which is also an invisible burden for doctors and is not conducive to communication between doctors and patients for diagnosis and treatment, and This is also an invisible burden for physicians, which is not conducive to communication with patients and poses a higher safety risk. According to a survey of 422 physicians, 72% of physicians considered the availability of CFDA-approved indications to be the most important factor in prescribing for premature ejaculation. 64% of physicians believed that the availability of CFDA-approved indications for premature ejaculation would facilitate patient-physician communication and enhance patient compliance. According to the survey, 74% of doctors believe that on-demand dosing (e.g., 1-3 hours before the start of sex) is the best way to treat premature ejaculation, and one of the features of Bilirim is on-demand dosing. Prior to this, most premature ejaculation medication regimens required adherence to daily dosing, regardless of the need to have sex. Awakening Awareness of Premature Ejaculation Treatment In the traditional public perception, premature ejaculation is a condition that men are ashamed to talk about, so we usually think that the reason for the extremely low rate of premature ejaculation visits (only 7% of patients received a doctor’s diagnosis) is that they are ashamed and embarrassed, but after a survey, it was found that the main reason why men do not seek premature ejaculation treatment in hospitals is lack of awareness, which is as high as 51%, while The most common misconception is the lack of knowledge. The most common misconception is that premature ejaculation is confused with other sexual health problems. It is believed that the misconceptions about premature ejaculation will be gradually eliminated once there is a CFDA-approved drug that is specifically developed for premature ejaculation. The topic of sexual health was gradually opened up 10 years ago with the launch of drugs for erectile dysfunction (commonly known as impotence). And when the only imported drug specifically developed for the treatment of premature ejaculation was officially marketed with national approval, it is believed that people will pay more and more attention to sexual life satisfaction. According to a survey, 30% of men are worried about not making their partner feel satisfied with their sex life, and when asked what are the main factors that cause this worry, the results show that 84% of the factors are related to premature ejaculation. Beware of the far-reaching dangers of premature ejaculation According to the previously published 2013 Asia Pacific Sexual Behavior and Satisfaction Study, nearly 1/3 of adult men suffer from premature ejaculation to varying degrees, and the total adult male (18-64 years old) population in China has exceeded 460 million. Premature ejaculation not only affects a wide range of people but also causes serious harm to both men and women. Patients with premature ejaculation generally have huge psychological pressure, which leads to a serious decline in self-esteem and self-confidence and further aggravates the symptoms of premature ejaculation to form a vicious circle. In the long run, it will not only make him produce interpersonal disorders thus seriously endangering the existing gender relationship. The survey shows that 85% of the users believe that premature ejaculation does or may lead to the breakdown of marriage/relationship. In fact, many male experts in China have been calling for the strengthening of male health science education to encourage men to pay more attention to their sexual health, to help men to view premature ejaculation correctly and scientifically, and to encourage men to consult a specialist at a regular hospital as early as possible. In addition, experts also pointed out that if the wife or partner is also aware of the seriousness of the problem of premature ejaculation, and at the same time take the initiative to communicate with men, it is often conducive to promote men to seek medical attention as soon as possible. After all, only by facing this problem scientifically can you get your premature ejaculation symptoms under control and finally have a satisfying sex life.
