Tuberculosis synovitis is not contagious, because the disease is caused by previous tuberculosis, which is not completely controlled by systematic treatment or is controlled by a low immune system, and the tuberculosis itself shows signs of recurrence and is transmitted to the synovial area through the blood circulation or lymphatic, resulting in synovial lesions. Tuberculosis is not transmitted from person to person during the acute or active phase, when the lesion of tuberculosis is limited to synovitis, but now the problem should be treated systemically with anti-tuberculosis therapy. The severity of the synovitis lesion itself needs to be judged specifically to consider whether it needs to be surgically removed or not, otherwise it may invade the surrounding tissues of the synovium over time, leading to more and more severe damage to the area.
