What to do before dental implant surgery

(1) The missing teeth should be made into a movable denture beforehand, preferably for more than 1 month, so that chewing and aesthetics will not be affected during the period of several months between the first stage surgery and the second stage surgery (before the placement of implants). If you have had tooth extraction or bed surgery, you should wait for 3 months until the bone defect is recovered and the x-ray shows that the quality and shape of the alveolar bone are satisfactory before considering dental implants. ③To have dental implant surgery, you should ensure that you are in good health. Do general blood test, for patients with mild hypertension, blood pressure should be restored to normal, and women should avoid menstrual period. ④The oral cavity should be kept clean before the surgery, and the teeth should be cleaned and cured of oral inflammation and diseases beforehand. ⑤The implant surgery is usually performed in an outpatient operating room. After the surgery, you can go home to rest or be hospitalized, and you can take care of yourself during the hospitalization, and generally do not need to be accompanied. (6) It is best to bring the photos of the previous denture and the missing teeth for the reference of the prosthodontist so that the implants can be made more natural and realistic in terms of tooth alignment and color.
