What kind of bed should a patient with lumbar disc herniation sleep in?

There is a saying that has been circulating among patients that “patients with lumbar disc herniation should sleep on a hard bed”. Although I don’t know where the origin of this saying is, it is so influential that many people’s instinctive reaction to hearing about “back pain” is to sleep on a “hard bed”. However, later on, when you think about it, you realize that there is something wrong, ask: “Even a person with a completely normal lumbar spine will feel uncomfortable sleeping on a slightly harder bed, if you let those patients who can’t move with back pain sleep in a hard bed for a night, it is not torture?” Different people may have different answers as to what kind of bed is suitable for them. For this reason, doctors suggest: ① do not listen to rumors to engage in “one-size-fits-all”, ignore the physical situation blindly use the hard bed; ② do not use the “old bed”: the bed used for more than ten years, after lying down the body as in the hammock so that the lumbar spine bowed -as shrimp. Such a bed should also be replaced. Low back pain patients really need the bed is like this: the bed hardness should be medium, when people lie down the bed should give the lumbar a support, so that the lumbar spine does not hang and maintain its normal physiological curvature. So that people can sleep peacefully all night, the body does not feel back pain in the morning …… This is a good bed.
