AIDS Control Measures

AIDS prevention measures can be divided into two aspects: prevention and treatment. For AIDS prevention, there is no effective vaccine for prevention due to the general susceptibility of human beings to the HIV virus, so prevention needs to be done by cutting off the transmission route. Currently, the main transmission routes of HIV are blood-borne, contact transmission, and mother-to-child transmission. In daily life, it is important to be clean and avoid promiscuity, and to take safety measures and use condoms for suspected high-risk sexual behavior or for sexual contact when the health of the other party is not certain. In addition, once HIV infection is diagnosed, antiretroviral treatment should be started as soon as possible.
