Whether nocturia is normal or not in nephrotic syndrome depends on the situation. If diuretics are taken before bedtime, the increase of nocturia is normal; if there are no other measures leading to the increase of nocturia, it is not considered normal and may be caused by the decline of renal function. 1. Nephrotic syndrome may occur edema, that is, the body retains a lot of water can not be discharged, so nephrotic syndrome patients often use some diuretics, such as furosemide, to reduce edema, which may lead to increased nocturia. 2. Nephrotic syndrome is mainly manifested by large amount of proteinuria, edema, hyperlipidemia, hypoproteinemia and other symptoms. If a large amount of proteinuria leads to damage of renal tubules and decrease of urine concentration function of kidneys, the urine at night can’t be concentrated and thus increase the volume of urine, leading to increased nocturia. Patients with nephrotic syndrome are advised to go to the hospital in time and follow the doctor’s instructions for standardized treatment.
