Preface: the word celiac disease, sounds a little scary, especially when used in people, and involves the intimate organs of women, “celiac disease” word suddenly most women friends shocked, fish discouraged the feeling of defeat. Many friends will ask: “I pay close attention to hygiene, how can I have cervical erosion?” “How can I prevent cervical erosion?” “Is there a way to treat cervical erosion?” “If I don’t treat it, do I have to wait for it to continue to rot?” The “celiac disease” has become the first common gynecological disease, often topping the headlines of small advertisements on the street, and there are even texts jokingly called “ten women nine celiac”. So, why is the incidence of cervical erosion so high? Is it really necessary to treat celiac disease? How do you really deal with celiac disease? I think it’s time to “right the ship” for “celiac disease” and write this article to dispel the rumors. The medical term “cervical erosion” is not a disease. The term “cervical erosion” has been widely used in the field of obstetrics and gynecology in China for decades, and refers specifically to the red area of the vaginal part of the cervix at the ectocervix, which has a fine-grained appearance. In fact, obstetrics and gynecology textbooks in Western countries have long since abandoned the term “cervical erosion” and called it “cervical columnar epithelial ectasia” instead. This state is not a pathological change, but a physiological change of the cervix. In adolescent and pregnant women, due to increased estrogen levels, the columnar epithelium of the cervical canal proliferates and migrates outward, resulting in a red, finely granular “erosion area” at the ectocervix; these “erosions” appear microscopically as a single layer of intact columnar epithelium of the cervical canal. Because the columnar epithelium is thin and the interstitium underneath is red, it appears to the naked eye like a vesicle or ulcer, so it is called “vesicle”. In fact, cervical erosion is not erosion, nor is it a disease, but a physiological state related to the body’s hormone levels, which cannot be prevented and does not need to be prevented. Another misconception in the concept of cervical erosion is the stratification of mild, moderate and severe. Many people believe that severe erosion is a state where the lesions are very serious and will turn into cancer. In fact, the clinical classification is based on the area of cervical erosion, with mild being less than 1/3 of the cervical area, moderate being 1/3 to 2/3, and severe being greater than 2/3 of the cervical area. asymptomatic cervical erosion does not require treatment since cervical erosion is a normal physiological state and does not require medical intervention. Therefore, it is currently advocated that those with asymptomatic cervical erosion do not require any treatment and should only be screened for cervical cancer and further colposcopy if the screening result is abnormal. If clinical symptoms occur, such as increased vaginal discharge or abnormal discharge, it is necessary to go to a regular hospital. Repeated inflammatory irritation may also lead to the formation of cervical polyps, which may result in bloody leucorrhea or post-coital bleeding, at which point timely medical attention must be sought. How to cure cervical erosion Firstly, it must be clear whether pathogens exist or not, routine secretion examination is essential; secondly, it is also crucial to make cervical cancer screening because cervical erosion and cervical precancer or early cervical cancer are difficult to recognize in appearance, human papillomavirus testing and cervical cytology examination are routinely done. If the discharge examination reveals the presence of pathogens or acute inflammatory manifestations, appropriate medications can be selected for local treatment. Medications are effective in relieving clinical symptoms, but it is difficult to change the physiological state of cervical canal columnar epithelial outgrowth with general medications. It is also believed that cervical erosion makes the cervical resistance weak and pathogens easily invade and inflammation occurs. If clinical symptoms appear, after excluding acute genital inflammation and cervical cancer and precancerous lesions, you can choose the right time for cervical physiotherapy, which is the most effective way to treat “cervical erosion”. The laser, freezing, microwave and other means will destroy the columnar epithelium and chemosynthetic epithelium of the cervical erosion surface, so that the smooth squamous epithelium will cover the wound surface, and generally there will be a little bleeding when the wound surface is decrusted in 1~2 weeks after treatment, and it will heal completely in 4~8 weeks. However, for women who have not yet had children or have the requirement to have children, it is recommended not to take cervical physiotherapy easily, because the treatment may cause cervical canal stenosis and infertility, as well as the risk of postoperative bleeding and infection. Once the mystery of “celiac disease” has been lifted, I’m sure it’s not so scary anymore. In the future, you don’t have to mention “celiac disease” and increase your tension.
