Symptoms of Trichomonas vaginalis

Trichomoniasis is a vaginitis caused by Trichomonas vaginalis infection and is a common type of vaginitis in women. The incubation period of the infection is relatively long, 1-4 weeks. The symptoms are as follows: 1) increased vaginal discharge, thin, purulent, frothy and smelly leucorrhea, which can be yellowish-green if combined with other infections; 2) itching, burning sensation, pain and painful intercourse in the vulva and vagina; 3) urinary tract infections, such as painful urination, frequent and urgent urination, if trichomoniasis is combined with urinary tract infections; 4) complications, such as infertility, etc. Because Trichomonas vaginalis can swallow sperm, pregnant women with trichomoniasis are at increased risk of preterm delivery and premature rupture of membranes. Therefore, trichomoniasis should be treated actively and the above conditions should be treated promptly.
