Alcohol is not recommended for people with diabetes and if consumed the total energy contained in the alcohol should be calculated. The amount of alcohol consumed in a day should not exceed 15g for women with diabetes and 25g for men with diabetes (15g of alcohol is equivalent to 350ml of beer, 150ml of wine or 45ml of distilled spirits). Drinking alcohol no more than twice a week.
