The standard of obesity
Beautiful girls with a little bit of meat on their bodies feel fat, the wealthy northeastern men feel that the beer belly around the body is only called imposing. Then obesity in the end how to define it, there are two simple methods.
1, BMI index
Body mass index (BMI) = weight (kg) ÷ height 2 (m)
Too light: less than 18.5
Normal: 18.5-23.5
Moderate: 20-25
Overweight: 25-28
Obese: 28-32
Very obese: above 32
It is especially worth noting that if your BMI exceeds 32, then modern medicine believes that dieting and exercise are no longer able to help you return to normal weight.
2.Waist circumference
Modern medicine believes that men’s abdominal circumference ≥ 2250px (i.e. waist circumference 2 feet 7), women’s abdominal circumference ≥ 2125px (i.e. waist circumference 2 feet 5) is judged as abdominal obesity.
Healthy obesity?
Now many people say “I am fat but I am healthy”, in fact, this is a wrong concept, strictly speaking, obesity is impossible to be healthy. Obesity brings a lot of symptoms: cardiovascular disease, diabetes, metabolic disorders, infertility, fatty liver, alcoholic liver, etc.
Fat is rich?
In today’s extremely rich material life, obesity has become an accessory. Some people self-congratulate the obesity to give a new concept – rich! This is actually a wrong concept, some people say: “obesity is not only not rich, even a kind of sickness! Excessive fat accumulation in the body will cause squeeze on the internal organs, and over time disease will come to the door.”
Surgery tossed?NO!
One of the reasons why many obese and diabetic patients refuse to have surgery is that they think it is too traumatic, but in fact this concept is not true. Nowadays, weight loss surgery is a minimally invasive procedure, and you can get out of bed on the second day after surgery and be discharged on the third day with a liquid diet in about a week. The effect of weight loss and blood sugar reduction is reflected after the surgery.
Having said so much about the hazards of obesity, then how to avoid obesity in the end?
1.BMI <32, keep your mouth shut and open your legs
Weight loss is actually not as painful as we think, summed up is “control mouth open legs” the six words, a car family usually in the unit can choose not to sit in the elevator, after eating a proper walk.
”Diet should be controlled and exquisite, go out to socialize with red wine instead of white wine, home cooking with olive oil instead of soybean oil, eat meat to eat more white meat.”
2, BMI> 32 exercise dieting is not effective
As we mentioned above, if your BMI is greater than 32, then modern medicine believes that exercise and dieting have no way to help you return to a healthy weight range. This is the time to use the power of medicine.
As we all know, patients with severe obesity are often accompanied by diabetes, rational diet, exercise, medication control, blood glucose monitoring and health education, has been called the “five carriages” for the treatment of diabetes. The “sixth carriage” – surgery – is receiving more and more attention from diabetic patients in recent years.
The current laparoscopic surgery for weight loss and diabetes in bariatric and metabolic surgery is a minimally invasive procedure, which has the advantage of requiring only 4-5 small 0.5-30px holes in the abdomen, resulting in less trauma, less bleeding, faster recovery, and relatively few complications. The surgical procedures are laparoscopic gastric bypass and laparoscopic sleeve gastrectomy.
Laparoscopic gastric bypass is performed by building a small gastric bursa of about 30 ml in the upper part of the stomach to limit food intake; the distal jejunum and the small gastric bursa are anastomosed to allow food to bypass the large part of the stomach, duodenum and the first jejunum, greatly controlling food intake and absorption. Laparoscopic sleeve gastrectomy is performed by preserving 2-150px of the gastric sinus above the pylorus in the direction of the greater curvature of the stomach, removing the greater part of the stomach along the long axis of the stomach, and removing the entire fundus, leaving the residual stomach in a “banana shape” with a volume of about 150ml.
