Walking upright, a sedentary lifestyle and constipation are the main factors in the development of hemorrhoids in the urban population. Preventing constipation through diet is the key to preventing hemorrhoids. Dietary treatment for hemorrhoids: Avoid dry stools in the first place! 1. 30g of fiber daily, such as fruits, vegetables, coarse wheat flour, oat bran, psyllium, etc.; 2. 3 glasses of water (1500ml) more; 3. Avoid constipating foods, such as starchy/sugar foods, cheese, milk, chocolate, coffee, tea (no more than 2-3 glasses daily); 4. Avoid routine application of NSAIDs/sedatives; 5. Avoid eating a lot before bedtime and drinking alcohol/ spicy food. When hemorrhoids are accompanied by itching, the following foods that produce alkaline stools are contraindicated: coffee, tea, cheese, citrus fruits/juices, beer, tomatoes, onions, nuts, etc.
