Posterior vaginal vault

The posterior vaginal fornix is the anatomical location of the female genital organs, located mainly at the top of the vagina and behind the cervix. The vaginal vault can be divided into the left vault, right vault, anterior vault and posterior vault according to its location, with the posterior vaginal vault being the deepest part of the vaginal vault. Many clinical gynecological examinations pass through the posterior vaginal fornix because fluid tends to accumulate there when inflammation exudes and bleeds. For example, women with ectopic pregnancy who have abdominal bleeding may have blood drawn through the posterior fornix by puncture. In women with endometriosis, nodules can be palpated in the posterior fornix during the examination, which is an aid in the diagnosis of the disease. Women with pelvic abscesses usually require puncture and drainage through the posterior vaginal fornix. When the vaginal fornix is infected with bacteria and causes vaginitis, topical suppositories can be used as prescribed by the doctor. It is recommended to take a squatting position and insert directly into the posterior fornix and the cervix to improve the inflammation significantly. Pay attention to the hygiene of the pubic area, change underwear regularly, don’t catch cold, ensure sufficient sleep, keep a good mood, don’t overeat, and have three meals a day regularly.
