What drugs may cause hearing damage?

  The following drugs may cause damage to the inner ear and should be used with caution or contraindicated, especially for those with a family history of deafness or suspected hearing abnormalities: 1. Aminoglycoside ototoxic drugs: such as streptomycin, gentamicin, kanamycin, neomycin, tobramycin, and small norfloxacin.  2. Macrolide ototoxic drugs: such as erythromycin, roxithromycin, etc.  3.Other ototoxic drugs: (1) Aspirin: If you take 6-8 tablets a day, it may harm the inner ear.  (2) Chemotherapy drugs: Drugs used to treat cancer. Usually health care professionals monitor the dosage of drugs to prevent ototoxic side effects.  (3) Non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs: If 6-8 tablets are taken daily, they may harm the inner ear, such as: vancomycin, polymyxin, jessamine, and leucomycin.  (4) Quinine: can be toxic to the inner ear if taken in excess.
