In China, there are 160,000 deaths and 640,000 disabilities caused by unintentional injuries among children aged 0-14 years each year, and unintentional injuries have become the number one cause of death among children. In children’s hospitals in developed countries, the prevention of childhood unintentional injuries has become a separate specialty. However, in China, for a long time, there are many misconceptions in people’s perceptions: that accidental injuries, since they are accidents, are not preventable; primary and secondary schools do not offer safety education courses, children are not educated; advocate children and adolescents defiant, self-sacrificing, not afraid of sacrifice, dare to fight; encounter accidental injuries, children and parents do not know how to use legal weapons to seek help; girls encountered molestation rape The girl encountered molestation rape dare not speak up; elementary school students were blackmailed dare not tell the teacher, the child was kidnapped dare not report; firecrackers more and more powerful, let children play firecrackers and other dangerous games; family breeding cats, dogs and other pets become the trend, the management lag; rat poison and other dangerous goods placed at will and abuse; domestic violence (stick out of filial son, etc.), family entanglements affected children, etc.. In order to reduce childhood accidental injuries, we should recognize the misunderstanding of childhood accidental injuries and use scientific and rational means to prevent them, which may help us reduce many tragedies that could have been avoided (according to statistics, scientific prevention can reduce 90% of injuries caused by accidents). To prevent childhood injuries, medical workers, especially pediatricians, should take up this obligation and widely publicize the precautionary measures, response skills, escape methods, and on-site first aid techniques for childhood accidents, while society should also pay wide attention to them.
