Hyperopia is usually caused by congenital developmental anomalies, and trauma to the eye resulting in subluxation of the lens may also cause hyperopia. 1. Congenital Developmental Abnormalities: Most of the hyperopia is caused by congenital developmental abnormalities, which exist at birth but are not easy to be detected, and are usually found during the school entrance physical examination. Therefore, it is important for children to have their vision checked regularly. 2. Lens subluxation: Trauma to the eye resulting in lens subluxation may cause the lens to move backward, resulting in hyperopia which is characterized by fluctuating and unstable hyperopia. When hyperopia occurs, the diagnosis can be confirmed by an optometry examination to find out the exact degree of hyperopia, which can then be corrected by wearing glasses.
