Patients with vocal cord paralysis mainly manifest as hoarseness, vocal weakness or even loss of voice, choking and coughing when drinking water, sometimes accompanied by chest tightness and shortness of breath, and in serious cases, laryngeal obstruction may even occur and endanger life.
