Dizziness is not a symptom of AIDS. There are many causes of dizziness, such as benign positional paroxysmal vertigo, Meniere’s syndrome, hypertension, cerebral ischaemia, etc. Symptoms of AIDS vary from one period to another. More importantly, patients may develop a variety of infections, some of which are relatively rare, such as Pneumocystis pneumonia, fungal meningitis and toxoplasma reticulosum chorioretinitis. The diagnosis of HIV should not be made by symptoms, but by a blood test for HIV antigens and antibodies to confirm the presence of the infection.
