Paeonix Paeonix Injection is a new national Class II drug invented by Professor An A Yue of Wangjing Hospital, Chinese Academy of Traditional Chinese Medicine, which is used for the injection treatment of all stages of internal hemorrhoids and varicose mixed hemorrhoids, and the hemorrhoids can be cured in one week by injection within the nucleus. The total efficiency is 100% and the cure rate is 98%! At present, Paeoniflora injection has been in clinical application for 30 years, and according to incomplete statistics, millions of patients have been treated with this drug, including nearly 100 provincial and ministerial leaders, all of whom have achieved satisfactory results and received unanimous praise, and no reports about its complications and sequelae have been found so far since its clinical promotion. Paeoniflora injection was first developed successfully in 1986, so it was initially named “86-AN injection”. In the late 1980s and early 1990s, it was renamed as “An’s Hemorrhoid Solution” and “An’s Hemorrhoid Injection” and was used in clinical practice as an in-hospital preparation. In 2003, the drug passed the State Drug Administration’s new drug approval, and obtained the national Class II Chinese medicine new drug certificate (Certificate No. H20030036), and began to be officially produced and marketed under the name of “Paeoniflor Injection” at the end of the same year and used in clinical practice. “Paeoniflora injection” is based on the Chinese medicine “dilation of meridians, stagnation of qi and blood” and the pathological changes of varicose veins of hemorrhoids, and has developed a new method to treat hemorrhoids by astringency and stasis removal! It is made of pure Chinese medicine and processed by a special process to make Paeonia lactiflora injection. Some experts commented that the drug “originated from Chinese medicine, developed Chinese medicine”, “small medicine, special power, is a clever system, strange system, can be both the symptoms and the root cause of treatment”. The pharmacology and pharmacodynamics confirmed that the drug has significant hemostatic and coagulation effects after subcutaneous injection, obvious anti-acute and chronic inflammatory hyperplasia effects, and certain in vitro antibacterial effects, which are the pharmacodynamic basis for the drug’s treatment of hemorrhoids. The study of the histopathological changes of the hemorrhoid nucleus before and after injection revealed that the treatment of hemorrhoids with Paeoniflora injection is different from the necrosis or sclerosis mechanism of other hemorrhoid injections, but the whole hemorrhoid nucleus “shrinks” through a series of changes of hemorrhoid tissue protein coagulation, lysis, absorption, and capillary renewal, leaving no hard nodules or other sequelae after treatment. Therefore, by injecting peony injection into the hemorrhoid nucleus, it can stop the bleeding and fix the prolapse, shrink the hemorrhoid nucleus and not damage the anal cushion, which is the ideal treatment for minimally invasive hemorrhoids. In 2004, the Ministry of Health promoted the new technique of Paeoniae Injection for hemorrhoids to the rural and grassroots areas as one of the “100 Projects of the Decade”; in the same year, the “Clinical Efficacy of Paeoniae Injection for Hemorrhoids” won the Science and Technology Award of the Chinese Academy of Traditional Chinese Medicine. In 2006, “Basic and clinical research on the treatment of hemorrhoids by astringent and stasis removal method” won the third prize of the Chinese Medical Science and Technology Award. 2012, “The establishment and application of the new technique of An’s astringent and stasis removal method for the treatment of hemorrhoids” was recommended by the Ministry of Health for the National Technology Invention Award. In 2015, the Chinese Center for the Development and Exchange of Chinese Medicine Science and Technology of the State Administration of Traditional Chinese Medicine included An’s therapy for anorectal diseases into the package of appropriate technologies for Chinese medicine and promoted it nationwide.
