How to recover myopia in children aged 10

Myopia is divided into true myopia and pseudomyopia, and for 10-year-old children with myopia, the first thing that needs to be clarified is what kind of myopia it is. If the myopia is pseudomyopia, it may be recovered with adequate rest, while if it is true myopia, it cannot be recovered. To distinguish what kind of myopia a child has, a dilated eye exam is performed, where the eye drops are used to relax the ciliary muscles completely, followed by an eye exam, which is harmless to the eye and is designed to remove ciliary muscle tension. Eye adjustment ability mainly relies on the eye ciliary muscle suspensory ligament and the lens together to complete. In simple terms, it is similar to the process of camera focusing. Long-term use of the eyes, close eye use and other causes of eye fatigue will cause ciliary muscle tension, which in turn causes the lens to become abrupt, objects in front of the retina, resulting in vision loss, blurred vision, fatigue relief ciliary muscle relaxation, the lens back to its original shape, blurred vision symptoms can be reduced, known as pseudomyopia. The possibility of pseudomyopia should be considered for minors, and pseudomyopia can be restored by changing bad eye habits and spending some time outdoors every day. If the result of the dilated eye exam is still myopia, it is true myopia, that is, the eye axis becomes longer. There are three ways to restore vision for true myopia: (1) Wearing OK lenses, which temporarily change the curvature of the cornea through the design principle of anti-geometry, gradually reduce the degree of myopia and improve naked eye vision, OK lenses are worn at night and taken off during the day, which has a certain role in reversing myopia, but the effect is limited and poor for those with higher degrees. (2) low concentration of atropine eye drops, research shows that the drug has a certain role in reversing myopia, but there are no such eye drops in China, and the side effects of long-term use are not yet fully understood. (3) Laser myopia surgery, but it can only be performed after the child has reached adulthood and the eye is fully developed. In summary, 10-year-old children with myopia need to first clarify the type of myopia, if it is pseudomyopia, can restore vision through the corresponding functional exercise; true myopia can be restored by wearing OK lenses, adult laser surgery and other methods to restore vision.
