The little girl Fei Fei is in the third grade this year, I don’t know what’s going on, the child always has nosebleeds these days, but every time with cool water to pat down the neck can stop, it seems that every year in the fall will have such a situation, and I don’t know what is the cause of Fei Fei’s nosebleeds, her mother gave her chrysanthemum tea honeysuckle drink a few days, but there will still be nosebleeds, I really don’t know how to do.
After autumn, because of the dry and windy climate in autumn, the number of children with nosebleeds has increased. Many parents believe that this is the cause of the child’s fire. In fact, there are many reasons for children’s nosebleeds, now that autumn has entered, the air is becoming cold and dry, the child’s nasal cavity is dry, nasal congestion, the child will force air or force to blow the nose, because the child’s nasal mucosa is fragile, capillary toughness is not enough, it may lead to capillary damage bleeding. Secondly, because the child itself has rhinitis, such children are more likely to have nosebleeds.
Children are prone to nosebleeds in autumn for the following reasons: 1. Malnutrition or lack of vitamin C, K or calcium can make the nasal capillaries brittle and lead to bleeding. Vitamin K is related to blood clotting, the lack of clotting time is prolonged, prone to nosebleeds.
2, is the dry weather, children’s internal heat with fire, such as eating spicy fire food pediatric nasal mucosa dry, often cause nasal bleeding.
3, is the dry climate, the nasal mucosa secretion of liquid volatilization faster, easy to crust in the nose, generally children have the bad habit of digging their nostrils, if picking away the crust or digging blood vessels, resulting in the rupture of nasal mucosa capillaries will occur nasal bleeding.
4.When the child has fever or cold, the nasal mucosa becomes congested and swollen, and the superficial blood vessels under the mucosa rupture and bleed.
5.It is when the child plugs a foreign object into the nasal cavity, which stimulates the nasal mucosa to erode and bleed.
6.It is suffering from nasal tumor or diseases of the blood system, such as aplastic anemia, thrombocytopenic purpura, leukemia, etc. can also cause nasal bleeding.
This is because there is a septum between the nostrils on both sides of the nasal cavity called nasal septum, where several pairs of blood vessels converge, especially in the front and bottom of the nasal septum, where the small blood vessels in the area are densely packed into a network and protected only by a very delicate mucous membrane. This network of small blood vessels is prone to bleeding due to dryness or injury, and when the bleeding is small, the blood drips out in dots or even spurts out in columns, which has to alert parents.
How to stop the bleeding?
When a child is found to have a nosebleed, the child’s head is instructed to remain upright, breathing through the mouth, parents immediately use two fingers to tightly press the nose for about 3-5 minutes, slightly downward pressure can be stopped, the conditions can be sterilized cotton balls or fine sand strips into the nostrils, and then use the upper method of pressure to stop the bleeding; you can also put a cool towel on the child’s forehead, nose root and both sides of the neck, you can also use a small ice pack, the effect is also good; or let the child sit Or let the child sit down or lie on his back on the bed, leaning on the thick cushion or quilt at the back, in a semi-recumbent position, with the head slightly tilted forward instead of backward; but if the bleeding is more, go to the hospital for timely treatment, with clear bleeding points with chromic acid or silver nitrate local cautery to stop bleeding, bleeding serious can be filled with gauze stained with hemostatic drugs to stop the bleeding by compression.
How to prevent it?
In autumn, you should hydrate your child more often, for example, drink autumn pear soup, persimmon juice, water chestnut soup and so on in the food therapy recipe frequently, or eat more fruits and vegetables. When the weather is dry, you can often wipe the front of your child’s nasal cavity with a cotton swab dipped in baby lotion, lotion or gentamycin eye ointment. Develop good hygiene habits and help your child change the bad habit of picking his nose often. In dry weather, put a pot of water in the room or place a humidifier to improve the dry air condition. Eat less chili, fried, barbecue and other foods that are easy to “catch fire”, pay attention to a balanced diet, do not be picky, partial food, eat more vegetables and fruits, and drink more water. Prevent colds and other respiratory diseases. If your child has a cold, tonsillitis, pneumonia or mumps and other infectious diseases, it can cause the blood vessels in the nasal mucosa to swell and bleed. Therefore, children should be treated promptly once they suffer from these diseases.
