Blushing is shyness? It may also be rosacea!

How can a woman’s red face, as bright as a rose, be associated with a large rosacea nose and a bad old man? Rosacea occurs in women with fair complexions, mostly between the ages of 25 and 50. Men should not snicker, although rosacea is more common in “mature women”, it is mostly men who develop a really big rosacea nose. So women with rosacea and old men with rosacea are actually suffering from the same skin disease: rosacea, also known as rosacea. Rosacea is a skin disease characterized by persistent redness, mainly on the cheeks and nose, and as the disease develops, capillary dilation (commonly known as erythema), papules, pustules and nasal redundancy (commonly known as rosacea) can appear. Because of its rose-like red color and the rash’s somewhat acne-like appearance, it has earned a beautiful name: rosacea. If your doctor tells you that you have rosacea, don’t get the wrong idea, there are no roses in the program, and it is not the same as acne vulgaris. There are four types of rosacea, depending on the appearance of the rash, so let’s take a look. Erythema capillarum is the more common type and is relatively mild, with a flushed face that is characterized by irritation. In general, people will blush, but after a period of time, the redness will recede and there will be no residual redness. In people with rosacea, the flushing of the face is characterized by the nose as the center, radiating to the cheeks, and can be red to the chin, forehead, and even the neck, chest, and scalp for more than ten minutes, and after receding, there can be residual redness, roughness of the skin, flaking, and even the appearance of purple-red spots and dilated capillaries (erythema). Papulopustular type Another type is papulopustular type. This type is very similar to acne vulgaris in that there can be erythema, papules, and pustules, and the skin can feel dry and itchy, but sebum secretion can increase. If it develops in your twenties, it can easily be mistaken for acne vulgaris, so this is the type that is most likely to be misdiagnosed. The other type is the verrucous type, predominantly in men, where the rash is predominantly patchy, with nodules and cysts and nasal flaps, and persistent capillary dilation. In men, the rash is concentrated on the nose and in women on the nose and chin, resulting in the typical large, fatty rosacea. The above two types are reversible, but in this type, it is basically irreversible, and that rosacea, without plastic surgery intervention, will become a lifelong hallmark of the patient. In addition, the ophthalmic form is also an important type of rosacea, but it rarely develops alone. It is usually found among the above three types, including blepharitis, keratitis, conjunctivitis, recurrent chalazion, and foreign body sensation, because few people will link dermatological and ophthalmic problems together. What is the cause of rosacea? I used to think that it was due to alcohol consumption, so-called rosacea. For a while, it was found to be related to mites, and there was a lot of hype about it, but now there is not enough evidence to make it clear. What is clear now is that it is related to abnormal vasodilatation, but there is no definitive study on what exactly makes vasodilatation abnormal. Treatment Rosacea treatment can only treat the symptoms but not the root cause of the condition. Common causes of facial flushing include emotional stimulation, drinking, spicy food, hot baths, hot springs, exercise, etc. There are also a few other common causes that we don’t pay much attention to, including: eating hot pot, steaming the face, washing the face with hot water, and spending a long time in a poorly ventilated room. Many friends reflect that it is difficult to avoid all the factors that cause flushing of the face, then we should pay attention to which kind of situation we are particularly prone to blush and pay attention to avoid it. It is important to understand that repeated vasodilation over a long period of time will speed up the development of rosacea, so the first step in maintenance is to avoid factors that can cause flushing of the face. Avoiding sun exposure is also important in the treatment of rosacea. Because rosacea skin is more prone to allergies, many people with rosacea find that applying sunscreens can cause their faces to become more red and itchy, so they resist using sunscreens. Skin care products for rosacea should be non-allergenic, non-irritating and fragrance-free, and the price point should not be too high for long-term use. Sunscreens should be physical to reduce irritation. Some scholars believe that facial massage to improve lymphatic reflux also has a significant effect. Treatment is based on topical and oral antibiotics. Steroids can improve symptoms for a short period of time, but prolonged use can aggravate the condition and even lead to hormone-dependent dermatitis. Since many over-the-counter creams contain steroids, and rosacea is a chronic, long-term recurring problem, prolonged medication is unavoidable, so it is important to use medication under the guidance of a doctor and not to buy creams on your own. Other laser and pulsed light treatments also have a therapeutic value, but must be performed by a doctor, as improper use can aggravate the condition. If you don’t want to have a big rosacea nose to accompany you for the rest of your life and don’t want to blush on any occasion, besides being shy, should you also check if you have rosacea?
