Cervical spondylosis is a common and multi-infection disease, mostly caused by cervical degeneration of the cervical spine or intervertebral foramen deformation, stenosis and subsequent secondary changes, stimulation or compression of the adjacent spinal cord, nerves, blood vessels and other symptoms or signs. Depending on the involvement of the site, it is divided into: nerve root type, spinal cord type, vertebral artery type, and sympathetic nerve type. The nerve root type is the most common, showing pain and numbness in the shoulder, arm, upper limb and hand, weakness in the upper limb, holding objects, and weakness in the neck; the spinal cord type is the most common, with numbness and weakness in the upper limb, inconvenience in walking in the lower limb, a feeling of stepping on cotton, and a feeling of girdling, leading to paralysis in severe cases. It can be treated conservatively (Chinese herbal external washing, fumigation, acupuncture point injection, multi-functional Chinese herbal ionization, etc.) and surgically (conservative treatment is ineffective if the pain affects daily life seriously for ≥ six months).
