Is a temperature of 37 degrees considered a fever?

The body temperature of 37℃ is in the normal range. If there is a subjective feeling of fever, it is necessary to pay attention to the change of body temperature, which may be transformed into hypothermia. Normal human oral temperature is between 36.3℃-37.2℃, axillary temperature is 36℃-37℃ and rectal temperature is 36.5℃-37.7℃. Regardless of the method of measurement, 37℃ is in the normal range. When the body temperature is normal, the body’s metabolism and enzyme activity are not affected and there are generally no health problems. However, if the body temperature is normal but fever is felt, it may be related to endocrine metabolic diseases or central thermoregulation problems, or there may be bacterial or viral infections. Some people, such as the elderly, have a low basal body temperature, and if it reaches 37°C, it can also be taken as a manifestation of fever, and a judgment should be made in conjunction with specific performance. Therefore, when the body temperature is at 37℃, it usually does not reach the standard of fever, but if there is a subjective feeling of fever or higher than the usual body temperature, attention should be paid to the observation of the body state, and the appearance of uncomfortable symptoms requires timely treatment.
