Hyperthyroidism, commonly referred to as hyperthyroidism, is caused by excessive synthesis and release of thyroid hormones from the thyroid gland. Hyperthyroidism is caused by excessive synthesis and release of thyroid hormones by the thyroid gland, resulting in high metabolic levels and sympathetic excitation, resulting in palpitations, easy sweating, increased food intake, weight loss, insomnia, emotional irritability and even anxiety. Most patients will experience proptosis, eyelid edema, and loss of vision. Most hyperthyroidism is caused by diffuse toxic goiter, subacute thyroiditis, hyperthyroidism caused by certain medications, and temporary hyperthyroidism during pregnancy. Hyperthyroidism is mainly a hyper-metabolism of the body, and therefore can cause some harm to the heart, cerebrovascular system, digestive system, reproductive system, and joint system. It is common to see patients who eat a lot but lose weight and develop hyperthyroid heart disease and thyroid-related eye disease. Hyperthyroidism is usually treated with anti-thyroid medications, and sometimes with radioactive iodine and surgery.
