There are many causes of foreign body sensation in the throat, including acute and chronic inflammation and tumors of the nasopharynx and throat, some diseases of the upper gastrointestinal tract, such as gastritis, esophagitis, gastric cancer and esophageal tumors, and some systemic diseases can also cause foreign body sensation in the throat, such as iron deficiency anemia, hypothyroidism, menopausal syndrome, diabetes, hypertensive heart disease, etc.
Whether throat discomfort is caused by pharyngeal cancer, further examination should be conducted in ENT department.
