Generally contacts are not exactly the same as nearsighted glasses. There is a conversion formula between the number of contacts and the number of nearsighted glasses, i.e. the number of contacts = the number of nearsighted glasses รท (1 – d x the number of nearsighted glasses). The general d value for Asians is taken as 0.012 meters, while for Europeans and Americans it is 0.0125 meters. By using the known number of degrees of myopic glasses, you can roughly project the appropriate number of contacts for the general population. According to the formula, you can initially estimate that if the myopia is less than 400 degrees, the difference between the degree of myopia and the degree of frame glasses is usually not too great, and you can choose the same degree. For people with myopia between 400 and 500 degrees, you can subtract about 25 degrees from your myopia; for people with myopia between 500 and 700 degrees, you can subtract about 50 degrees from your myopia; for people with myopia between 700 and 900 degrees, you can subtract about 75 degrees from your myopia; for people with myopia between 900 and 1100 degrees, you can subtract about 100 degrees from your myopia. For people with 900-1100 degrees of myopia, you can subtract about 100 degrees from your myopia. If you need to wear contacts, you need to go to a hospital or a professional prescription center to get the right contacts for you.
