What is considered myopia?

Myopia is a condition in which the eye looks at a distant object and the light emitted from the object is refracted in the eye to form a focal point in front of the retina at the base of the eye. A major manifestation of myopia is blurred vision at a distance, which is found to be a negative refractive error by medical optometry, a condition called myopia. The measurement of myopia requires an optometry, or in the case of children, a dilated eye exam, to obtain a relatively true myopia. If true myopia is diagnosed, myopia will need to be corrected, which is often done with glasses, especially in minors. In the case of adults, glasses can be considered as well as myopic laser surgery or myopic lens implantation to correct myopia.
