Hematuria is a common symptom of urological disorders. And almost all diseases of the urinary system can cause hematuria. Patients with painful hematuria often seek prompt medical attention because of the pain, such as urinary tract infections and urinary stones. In the case of “painless” hematuria, patients tend to take it lightly and take anti-inflammatory drugs for observation, and the hematuria does disappear within a few days, thus giving the patient the illusion that the condition is improving. However, at this time, the most common cause of “painless” hematuria – urological tumors – may be growing quietly, with bladder cancer being the most common, followed by renal pelvis cancer. The easiest way to deal with “painless” hematuria is to have a routine urine test and an ultrasound of the urinary system, except for organic lesions, and then have a cystoscopy if necessary.
