Fasting is required when taking iodine-131, and fasting is required 2 hours after taking the drug. 2. Return to the ward for bed rest as soon as possible after taking the drug, and contact the doctor and nurse by intercom. 3. 3. After taking the medicine, pay attention to rest, prevent cold, avoid mental stimulation, and prohibit heavy physical labor. 4. Do not spit anywhere after taking the medication, urinate and defecate in the toilet in the ward within eight days, and do not sleep or have close contact with infants and children for one month after returning home. 5. Do not rub the thyroid gland after taking the medication. If you have a fever of more than 38℃, increased heartburn, nausea and vomiting, sweating profusely, etc., contact the medical staff quickly, and if you have been discharged from the hospital, come to the hospital for consultation. 6. The iodine diet must be forbidden for 1 month after taking the drug to avoid affecting the absorption of iodine-131 and the therapeutic effect. You can use more nutritious and high-protein diet. 7. After taking the medication, use the medication specified by the doctor and stop the medication according to the doctor’s prescription. 8. The condition will gradually decrease after 1 month of medication, and you must come for a review after 3 months. 9. If symptoms such as swelling, drowsiness and coldness appear after hyperthyroidism is cured, hypothyroidism may appear, so please come back to our clinic. 10. To avoid recurrence and early detection of hypothyroidism, you should come to the Department of Nuclear Medicine once a year to have your T3, T4 and TSH checked.
