Will wearing glasses deepen myopia?

It is wrong to say that wearing glasses will deepen myopia. The growth of myopia is related to many factors, such as genetics, growth and development, excessive eye use, etc. Most of the myopia in teenagers is axial myopia. The longer the eye axis is, the higher the myopia is. Wearing glasses corrects the deficiencies in the refraction of the eyes, normalizes the refractive system of the eyes and provides clear vision, while after taking off the glasses, the patient lacks the help he or she should have and will feel that he or she does not see as clearly as wearing glasses, so he or she will be reluctant to take off the glasses. After wearing glasses, because seeing is clearer, it can cause negative feedback, inhibit myopia aggravation due to blurred image stimulation, and can partially slow down the rapid growth of myopia; many myopic children have poor ciliary muscle regulation, if they don’t wear glasses in time to correct, they will be more negligent to mobilize regulation, and in the long run regulation is deteriorating, which will not only lead to increased regulation lag, rapid myopia development, but also may cause exotropia. It may also cause exotropia. Therefore, wearing glasses will not deepen myopia, and giving myopic children the right glasses in time not only eliminates visual fatigue, but also improves visual acuity and delays the deepening of myopia.
