Is it normal to have abdominal cramps during ovulation?

  Slight abdominal cramping during ovulation is a normal physiological phenomenon, and the symptoms will usually be relieved within two days and will not affect the patient’s health or cause other adverse effects. If the pain is more severe and lasts longer, it is not normal and may be caused by many diseases, the cause of which needs to be identified in time.  During ovulation, due to follicle rupture and pelvic fluid accumulation, cramping pain in the abdomen can occur. Usually the symptoms will be relieved after two days without special treatment. There are more causes of severe abdominal cramps during ovulation, most of which are caused by pelvic inflammatory disease or other gynecological inflammatory diseases, such as endometritis, uterine fibroids, uterine sarcoma, etc. If it is a mild abdominal pain, it may be caused by the patient not paying attention to rest or strenuous exercise during the ovulation period, so don’t worry too much.  It is recommended that the patient pay attention to keeping the abdomen warm during ovulation and not to do strenuous exercise. Pay attention to personal hygiene, do not use other people’s personal belongings to avoid cross-infection, and go to the hospital gynecology department in time for treatment in case of severe abdominal cramps.
