What causes enlarged mesenteric lymph nodes?

Enlarged mesenteric lymph nodes are most commonly seen in children, often presented with abdominal pain, fever and vomiting, with pressure pain in the right lower abdomen seen on examination and enlarged mesenteric lymph nodes seen on abdominal ultrasound, usually due to mesenteric lymphadenitis, and rarely due to mesenteric lymph node tuberculosis and lymph node metastases from malignant tumours.
