HFMD usually takes about a week to heal if you can get well just by taking medicine. Most patients with relatively mild HFMD will be cured of their symptoms within a week. In the case of fever, the child will be significantly uncomfortable, and the symptomatic use of these drugs is mainly to make the child feel more comfortable and does not recognize that they can significantly shorten the course of HFMD. In this aspect of TCM, the application of drugs such as Banlangen to clear heat and detoxify the toxins may have a better effect on the overall course of the disease. For patients with severe HFMD, the application of drugs such as glucocorticoids or human immunoglobulins, as well as the application of herbal medicines to clear heat and detoxify the fire, may control and shorten the course of the disease. For mild cases of HFMD, these drugs are not considered to significantly shorten the course of the disease.
