What causes a child’s dry cough

Dry cough in children is mainly due to infections, while environmental stimuli and external factors also play a role. The causes of infection are divided into the following categories: 1. Viral infections, common upper respiratory tract infections, can cause a dry cough in children, most of which are self-limiting. 2. Bacterial infections, which are more common clinical causes of dry cough, commonly include acute bronchitis and pneumonia. 3. Mycoplasma or Chlamydia infections are mainly caused by irritating dry coughs, which are more violent and require medication. However, dry coughs caused by bacteria, viruses or a combination of mycoplasma and chlamydia are more common clinically, as well as poor environment, air pollution and entering a newly renovated room.
