How soon you can have intercourse after cervical screening depends on the vaginal bleeding. If there is no vaginal bleeding after cervical screening, you can have intercourse on the 3rd day after screening; if there is a small amount of vaginal bleeding, you can have intercourse only about 2 days after the bleeding clears. Cervical screening involves brushing cells from the cervical canal for the relevant tests. Since this test is an invasive procedure, it may cause bleeding due to rupture of the capillary wall during the procedure. A small amount of vaginal bleeding may occur at the end of the test, which is usually normal and not a cause for excessive concern. Patients are advised to have intercourse appropriately after 2 days of complete absence of vaginal bleeding. After cervical screening, patients need to keep their vulva clean and hygienic, wash it with warm water every day and change sanitary napkins regularly if there is a small amount of bleeding. Women are advised to have cervical screening once a year so that problems can be detected and dealt with in time.
